Wolf Alice – Lisbon Lyrics

Wolf Alice – Lisbon Lyrics
Lisbon Lyrics by Wolf Alice
“Lisbon” is track #6 on Wolf Alice’s debut album My Love Is Cool. The Guardian described it as “punky” and added it “could be a lost Dandy Warhols gem.”
In an interview with Indie Rock Ellie confirmed the song was titled after the 1993 book The Virgin Suicides and the 1999 Sofia Coppola movie of the same name, centered around the story of the “Lisbon sisters”.
[Verse 1]
You’re gonna look at me twice, it’s eventual
You’re there when you’re not cause I’m smoking your menthols
Smoking your menthols
Wearing all your clothes again
They’re wearing thin but it’s one way to be together
Be together
[Chorus]
Swallow the fear
My stone cold fox
My arms are here
I’ve been ready for so long
And I would lick your wounds and care
[Verse 2]
Feel like running, feel like crack
Feel like going out and smashing windows
I’m smashing windows
And in a black, black hole, deeper than death
I would wait for you there, just give me the breath, to say it
Back together
[Chorus]
Swallow the fear
My stone cold fox
My arms are here
I’ve been ready for so long
And I would lick your wounds and care
[Outro]
Feel like running, feel like crack
Feel like going out and smashing windows
I’m smashing windows
And in a black, black hole, deeper than death
I would wait for you there, just give me the breath, to say it
Back together
