I fucking love this song because there are so many great examples in it of chasing joy. Wanting a certain car, or wanting certain amounts of money and we all have these things we want or a goal we want to hit but when we get there it just bumps to the next one. Maybe you’re stoked for a week on whatever it is you accomplished, but you don’t actually sit and appreciate it. I find so much more joy when I’m actually able to experience a simple moment than when I hit some sort of landmark in my goals or make a certain amount of money or buy something I’ve been wanting. Those things are awesome and it’s amazing to have those accomplishments, but not if you don’t enjoy where you are.
