On “My Dawg,” NAV and Lil Durk reunite on a melodic trap banger that details the two artists expressing their gratitude for a friend who has been loyal to them since the start and saying that they are willing to do whatever to keep them happy.

On July 18, 2022, the song was revealed as a file as part of a quick clip from a now-deleted video that NAV posted on TikTok. On July 29, in an interview with Complex, he confirmed that he had recorded a song with Durk for Demons Protected by Angels. NAV later spoke about it in a September interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music that he played the song to his manager, Cash, and the two agreed that Durk would fit well on it.
