On 10 October 2022, Lolo talked about the meaning of the song in an interview with Rinse France.

Skin & Bones is about our generation which is obsessed with celebrities and being skinny and the fact that we don’t care about the actual important things. But at the same time, it’s also about my experience of touring. It’s hard emotionally and physically speaking. This song is kinda hopeful even if it’s a sad one, it gives me a bit of hope.
